Happy February! We are expecting another busy giveaway on February 23rd. We are testing out a slightly shifted setup spot for the event, so look for the blue canopy, yellow shirts, and our Austin Humanists at Work sign.

In February, we launched a dual Books and Bras drive to obtain reading materials and bras for the clients who come through our lines. We welcome these items at the giveaway on February 23, 2020, or ahead of time via dropoff or appointment pickup.

We have a great wishlist on Amazon with needed items including bras and pens, etc. But we also welcome gently used items and, of course, magazines, notepads and more that may be found in a closet, garage or resale shop.
If it’ll be your first giveaway with ATXHAW, be sure to arrive at 8:40 a.m. under the I-35 bridge, across from the Austin police station near 8th Street. Get to the blue canopy where you’ll sign in, get a volunteer badge, and find get an assignment such as unloading the trailer, placing items on the tables, or sorting inventory. More info here.

In February we are feeling the love and now accepting donations through Amplify Austin! Amplify Austin Day is the Central Texas region’s day of giving. It is a local generosity movement that connects individuals, families, businesses, and foundations with the causes they are passionate about to create real, lasting change for the local nonprofits that address our most pressing needs. We hope you’ll participate in this amazing local giving opportunity to help our neighbors in need.
We have more opportunities to get involved with us this February: Gettin’ Knotty Guild welcomes those who knit, croche and use yarn to join monthly meetups. Many members make hats and washcloths for the clients we serve. Join us on February 20th, from 7-10 p.m. at the Arboretum Barnes and Noble (10000 Research Blvd., Austin). Just look for our sign!
Just a reminder that we LOVE all of our volunteers, donors, and supporters who help make every giveaway and partnership possible. 💚
