Since the beginning of our organization, we strive to listen to our community with consideration for each individual’s need and even beyond basic needs. Basic human interaction with those we serve, showing them love and compassion with some homemade items like crocheted washcloths, hand-written well wishes, and even hugs between friends. Sometimes it’s the little things that make all the difference in a person’s day-to-day life.
This February we are bringing back a drive ATXHAW has a lot of fun running. “Just Because Bags“, which are brown paper bags, decorated with the craft supply of your choosing, and filled with items we don’t normally giveaway, or often in short supply. These bags are perfect things to make with kids, a nice activity for scouting troops, and even a good thing to make with local communities and neighborhoods. Also this month we are “Spreading the love” by highlighting other organizations who do amazing work throughout our community and beyond. CLICK HERE our Facebook for our posts this month. We love to hear from everyone on Facebook who has volunteered for these organizations and any stories you’d like to share.
Also, this is the last month we will be collecting items for our Warmth Drive. We are collecting clean new and gently used items to keep Austin Warm for the remainder of our Texas winter. For more information about our collection and how you can get your donations to us, CLICK HERE.
