How did you spend your warm Texas Sunday morning? We helped out a bunch of fellow humans. This is the Austin Humanists at Work July 2018 recap!
Even though there was some kind of global sporting event going on, we had a dedicated, hard working group of volunteers come out and hand out some much needed supplies to the men and women of Austin. We had new faces and regulars on both sides of the table.
As you can see from some of the photos, we had a long line of folks needing our help. A whopping 224 passed through (which is our 3rd highest total ever) and we put a major dent in our supplies. We were a little short on snacks and water, but we had a good stock of our normal supplies. The Bra Drive continues to pay dividends as it was one of the most popular spots in line (we handed out several). The insect repellent we received earlier in the summer also went pretty fast.
Seeing empty bins means we’ve done our job…but will need to replenish. Later this month we’ll update our What Do We Need page with…well…what we need.
Thank you to all the volunteers and donors who have helped us out so far this year. The success we’re experiencing couldn’t happen with you. If you’d like to help, you can check out our Amazon Wish List or just head over to our Donate page and send us some PayPal money (remember we’re a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization…your donations are tax deductible). If you’re a little short on cash, but still want to help us out, you can always come out to a giveaway and help us out. We’ll be glad to see you.
Next giveaway is August 19th! Please come out to help…and bring a friend!
