Hello everyone!
It’s time for ATXHAW’s third giveaway of the year! This month, we are completely out of men’s underwear, men’s socks, and pens. There are many other items that we could use more of as well. Please visit our traffic light shopping guide on the What Do We Need? page to see everything we do (and don’t) need, and then check out our Amazon wish list. It’s sorted to match the traffic light shopping guide: High Priority = Green Light, Medium Priority = Yellow Light, and Low Priority = Red Light. Click “Filter & Sort” and choose “Priority (High to Low).”
If you prefer to make a financial contribution via PayPal, please click here! Your donation will enable us to buy items that fill in the gaps each month.
One item that we won’t be out of for awhile is first aid kits! Thanks to a grant from the Foundation Beyond Belief, ATXHAW was able to purchase supplies to make 1,000 first aid kits. And yesterday evening, volunteers from the Alpha Gamma Pi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Austin Community College assembled 500 of them! Each kit contains 5 band-aids, 4 antiseptic wipes, 2 gauze pads, and 2 knuckle/fingertip bandages.
Thank you to the Foundation Beyond Belief and the volunteers from Phi Theta Kappa! We are so proud to partner with these two excellent organizations!
Time for Gettin’ Knotty!
Have you been to a Gettin’ Knotty meeting yet? No? What are you waiting for?? Gettin’ Knotty is ATXHAW’s knit and crochet group. The members create hats and scarves for the cold weather months, and cotton washcloths, which are handed out year-round.
All levels of expertise are welcome. Don’t know how to knit or crochet? That’s OK – we can help you cast on!
Thanks for reading! We hope you are enjoying this gorgeous spring weather. See you on the 18th!
