Hi everyone!
We’re in that funky in-between the seasons time here in central Texas. It’s not quite summer, but it’s not quite fall either! The lows are beginning to get lower – where it’s just chilly enough to need a blanket at night – so we’ve added mylar emergency blankets to our Amazon wish list. But it’s still sunny and on the warm side during the days, so we also have sunscreen on our wish list. Ahh, Texas weather, how we love ya.
The traffic light shopping guide has been updated, and as you can see, we have a lengthy green light list this month! Our most pressing needs are the items that we are completely out of: condoms, first aid kits, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, insect repellent, and (as usual) men’s underwear.
**We are currently experiencing a problem with our Amazon wish list. The number of items that we have in stock here at ATXHAW is incorrect on many items. We definitely don’t have 35 packs of women’s socks or 31 bowls of nail clippers! Please check the priority of each item instead. High priority = green light, medium priority = yellow light, and low priority = red light. We are working with Amazon customer service to correct this issue as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!**
Time for another Gettin’ Knotty meetup!
“Oh. My. God. Becky, look at her skeins. They’re SO big. She looks like one of those knotty people with the hooks and the needles. But who can understand those patterns, anyway?”
If you have some big skeins, you’ve found the right group. The ATXHAW Gettin’ Knotty group will be meeting this Thursday, September 14th, from 7 to 10 PM. We snag a couple of tables in the cafe area of Barnes & Noble in the Arboretum, have coffee, and knit & crochet for the next giveaway. We create cotton washcloths that are handed out every month, and acrylic hats and scarves for the winter months.
Our thoughts are with those affected by the natural disasters in the US and abroad. For those in the paths of the storms, we wish you the best from the bottom of our hearts. Please keep yourselves safe.
If you’re able, please consider donating to or volunteering with an aid organization.
Thanks for reading! See you on the 17th!
