Isn’t the weather beautiful? It’s been perfect to get outside and go for a walk, tend a garden, or read in the sunshine. Until (insert Jaws theme here) they come buzzing. If you’ve been in central Texas for more than 10 minutes, you know who I’m talking about – the dreaded mosquitoes. Swarming, biting, and ugh, those itchy bites!
Imagine what it must be like to not be able to get away from the mosquitoes. For the people that we serve, that is an everyday reality. Going indoors isn’t always an option. And unless a person has insect repellent, they’re forced to endure bite after bite.
We don’t want anyone to go through that. That’s why we hand out insect repellent spray and wipes at our giveaways. Unfortunately, we are completely out of insect repellent.
We are also out of hand sanitizer, and have many other items on the green light list – items that we have a few of, but not enough for a full giveaway. If you’d like to donate, please see our Amazon Wish List. If you click “Filter & Sorts” at the top of the page, then click “Priority (high to low)”, the items that we need the most will be right at the top of the list!

The ATXHAW Gettin’ Knotty group will be meeting this Thursday, May 18!
Pssst… We may discuss the size of our yarn stashes. The Dowager Countess would definitely disapprove.
The group meets in the cafe area of the Barnes & Noble in the Arboretum. We begin creating hats, scarves, and cotton washcloths at 7 PM and stay until the store closes at 10 PM.
