We had a great turnout of volunteers and lots of humans to serve on a brisk November morning.
Given that it was the week of Thanksgiving, we were concerned we would be stretched for volunteers due to travel. In addition to having a great month of donations, we were very fortunate to have around 45 volunteers (including 10 children) to help us serve 156 people that went through the line. We had more than adequate coverage on the line as well as those who were providing help with restocking and answering questions. I can’t tell you how much we appreciate all the help.
A great big “thank you” goes out to Keep Austin Fed that provided us with a big shipment of water and some “Epic” jerky. The jerky was very popular.
The next giveaway is on Christmas Day (December 25th). We hope to have some meals as well as some basic living supplies…but more on that later. If you plan to be in town for the 25th (and you can spare an hour of your time), we would love to have you participate.
