A great big Thank You to all our donors and all our volunteers that helped us with the October 2016 giveaway. In typical Texas tradition…October 16 doesn’t automatically mean that the weather will be “fall-like”, so we had to endure a warm, humid morning, but at least there was a breeze.
In spite of the weather, we had a surprising number of customers go through our giveaway line. At one point, we thought we would be wrapping up early (about 9:30am), but the line never really died down and remained steady till about 9:55am. All in all, we served 154 fellow humans with some much needed living supplies and clothes.
As usual, things like razors and men’s underwear were very popular. We also ran out of bags to hand out. We might need a few extra for the next giveaway on November 20th.
Thanks again to everyone that helped. We couldn’t do it without you.
