This month we were able to serve 128 people, with about 40 volunteers and quite a selection of personal care items and warm clothing that was generously donated. Thank you!
Warmth drive is still going on and we really need hats, gloves and scarves desperately. Check out our recent traffic light post for what we’re running low on. Check out our website for details or to download printable flyers: http://www.austinhumanistsatwork.org/wprss/p/blog-page.html?m=1
Next giveaway is Dec. 20, just in time to bring holiday cheer with no string attached.
Gettin’ Knotty is calling all yarn enthusiasts!! We are running very low on washcloths, and could use many more adult size hats fitting a variety sized heads. Even if you do not want to sew scarves or fleece hats, we are calling out anyone wanting to bring the warmth of home to people who may be homeless or of limited means.
Thank you to all who donated Holiday Shoeboxes for the Beyond the Basics and County Line Homeless Ministries. The final count is not in yet but a little bird told us we could possibly reach 100 Shoeboxes total. What an amazing outpouring of generosity! We will have a final count after Thanksgiving.
Looking for more opportunities to contribute? ECHO needs your help! ECHO’s annual Point in Time Count needs volunteers & team leads. Team leads must register by December 1. http://austinecho.org/2016-point-in-time-count-registration/
See you next month!
Giving thanks for all of your help!
