Here’s your chance to make someone smile…literally! We are in dire need of travel size toothpaste for our October 19th giveaway. As of today, we have 30 tubes but expect more than 100 people in line. Donate some tubes and put a smile on your face, knowing you’ve helped someone keep their smile a healthy one.
Thanks to a tandem effort by some ATXAHH volunteers and the Atheists & Humanists Helping the Homeless in San Antonio group, we were well represented at the Texas Homeless Network‘s recent statewide convention. It was a great way for people to learn about what we do. Some hotel guests even donated a few of their unused hotel toiletries.
As you look to the week ahead, remember our Gettin’ Knotty guild will meet at the Arboretum Barnes & Noble Cafe on Thursday, October 16th, at 7:00pm. All skill levels welcome! It’s a great opportunity to socialize while creating (or learning how to create) washcloths to be distributed at our giveaways. The group has expanded its focus to include scarves and hats for the upcoming winter months.
Speaking of winter, it still feels like summer around here but you know how fickle Texas weather can be. As you prepare for cooler temps, keep us in mind if you have any winter gear you no longer need: jeans, pants, sweatpants, coats, jackets, hoodies, sweaters, flannelwear, long sleeve shirts, gloves, scarves…you name it. If you can’t use it anymore, we know someone who can.
