Do you like to knit or crochet? Are you interested in learning? The Austin Humanists at Work’s Gettin’ Knotty Knitting Guild is here to give a little bit of our homes to people experiencing homelessness. If you want to knit or crochet washcloths, hats, scarves, gloves…, you’re in the right place. A washcloth can speak volumes to someone who has limited access to necessities and even more limited access to luxuries. The best way to stay in the know is to join the ATXHAW Gettin’ Knotty FaceBook group.
Gettin’ Knotty meets at the Arboretum Barnes and Noble Cafe on the 3rd Thursday of each month*. People start gathering around 7pm and stay until the last knitter leaves. Come when you can, stay as long as you’d like. Let’s get knotty!
*Note: The date is subject to change so it’s best to consult the FaceBook group before heading to Barnes and Noble. You don’t have to live in the Greater Austin area to participate. You’re always welcome to mail your completed pieces to our Austin coordinator and they will be distributed at the next giveaway. Email for address: firstname.lastname@example.org
